Some words of thanks from CityServe projects across the region

Posted by:

“Please pass on my and the Clubs gratitude for the work done out at Bill Elliott Oval – Both the AFL and Cricket Club were very impressed and appreciated the volunteers efforts. If any of them have children or grand-children in the area and are looking for a winter sport – Wallsend AFL would love them on board (always looking out for new members).
Again many thanks”

North Lake Macquarie Citizens Serving their city

Posted by:

“The combined churches of the North Lake Macquarie had a great time serving the Warners Bay High School painting tables, moving mulch, cleaning footpaths and weeding the gardens. There were about 30 people from the various churches serving Warners Bay High School. The Principal of the School also got involved which was terrific. What a privilege to serve with others to help serve the School in such a practical way”

We successfully completed our project at Kotara Park on 18 October and had fun doing it.
Overall there were about 20 people aged from 4 to 80 and everyone said it was a good experience. The morning team went hard at it right from the start and had to be told to stop for lunch and leave some for the afternoon team. The warm dry day meant that it could be recoated after not too long. We finished it all ...

Macquarie Life Church’s 2014 CityServe Experience

Posted by:

Macquarie Life Church undertook 2 CityServe projects this year, Ulinga Oval at Cardiff South and Neegulbah Park at Macquarie Hills. We had about 30 volunteers, across the 2 projects, who were involved in gardening, painting and general tidying up of the parks. Our volunteers got ‘stuck in’ to the tasks and enthusiastically worked to complete the projects on the day.
As a church it was great to be involved in projects that are right in the ‘backyard’ of our church. ...

What does CityServe mean to me?

I love Newcastle.

Ever since I moved here at the age of two, Newcastle has and always will be my hometown. There’s something about the coffee, Darby Street, the culture and warmth about Newcastle that you don’t quite see anywhere else. The sun shines brighter here, the food tastes better here and the town is as lovely and friendly as the people that live in it.

We have Silverchair . We have The Knights. We have the NBN. We have all kinds ...

Calling all citizens of Lake Macquarie: we need you!

Posted by:

Cityserve continues to build momentum in Lake Macquarie with 28 projects planned for this October and many now in the final stages of planning. Some significant works are planned for most suburbs to the North, East and West of Lake Macquarie – like Belmont Child Care, Charlestown Netball Courts, Swansea Equestrian Centre and Wangi Scouts.

We still need you though. Cardiff Baptist Church is looking for volunteers to assist at the Cardiff Early Learning Centre. And we desperately need helpers and ...
